Golf book raises £5,000 for Cancer Appeal
When Cancer Appeal supporter Roger Baker got into a dispute with his golf club he decided to write a book about the episode and give all the proceeds to help people with cancer.
The book - "Hillsborough Golf Club Definitely Not Par for the Course" was first published in 2002. Roger, seen above with his wife June ( left) and Weston Park Hospital fundraiser Rachel Thorpe (right) published the book himself and has since been selling it to any interested party for £5 a copy. So far sales have notched up £5,000 for the Cancer Appeal for which we are very grateful. "My husband is a keen golfer," says Rachel. " I bought him a copy for his christmas stocking and he found it thoroughly entertaining."
