"As promised, here is photographic evidence that we completed our white-water Rafting challenge! And I'm pleased to report that despite losing a few out of the raft on a couple of occasions, we all survived," said team leader Helen Wood.

"By the time we had all volunteered to float down the course on our backs, and jump in to the most frothy part, we were all well and truly soaked anyway. It was fabulous - I'd thoroughly recommend it!"

"We had a fantastic time and thank you for all the donations which helped us exceed our target, raising £1000 for the Weston Park Cancer Appeal."

The crew were made up of 6 members of staff from the Cancer Research Centre at Weston Park Hospital. Here they are in more relaxed mode getting into the spirit of things before taking the plunge.

"We all work in different departments," says Helen. "This is a good way of getting to know each other, team building and having a good time as well. Our Cancer Research Centre wouldn't be here if it weren't for the Cancer Appeal so raising this money is just our way of trying to do our bit."

The CRC crew chose to have their white-water rafting adventure at a purpose built centre in Nothamptonshire. If you fancy taking part you need to muster a crew of 6 - 8 people, raise a minimum sponsorship of £1,000 (thats just £125 per person!).

You can choose your venue from a number of approved sites across the country. You also set the date (subject to availability) between now and October 2008.
