Think Pink

Pink shirt, pink trousers, pink hair - you know the stuff. Do it at work, at school, with friends and hold a collection. It's very simple and hopefully good fun as well. For one of our patients it's a way of keeping positive.

Our Thanks go to Sheffield United who have again supported out Think Pink month by designating United's home match against Preston on Saturday 20th October as Think Pink Day at Bramall Lane. Four of the players also visited the hospital to serve Matron's special Think Pink cocktails to the patients and add a little sparkle to a hospital stay. Match shirts are also being auctioned off in aid of Weston Park Hospital Cancer Appeal.

When Sheffield woman Kathleen Troughton walked last years Think Pink Walk she had only just completed her treatment for breast cancer. This year she has added reason to urge you to join her ....

Barnsley’s Mayor Elect Ken Sanderson and his wife Beryl donned their finest pink apparel along with their chains of office to visit Weston Park Hospital, the regions specialist cancer centre, to see the positive difference made by people’s charitable donations.

It is not too late to register for this years Think Pink Walk on Sunday 7th October. It costs £5 per person to register (if you register online there is an extra admin charge which pays for this service). The route is clear after the floods! You can register up to and including the day. Please get a group of friends together, buy one of our pink t-shirts (optional) and get some sponsorship. It really does help us help women with cancer in this region.
