Please Help! Urges Christine

"I'm not ill, I've just got cancer" says Christine Walton from Birdwell in Barnsley, who was diagnosed with breast cancer 3 years ago.

“People are frightened of it but I want to show them that I’m still here 3 years on thanks to the wonderful support of Weston Park Hospital. I try to be positive and it’s not always easy but I’m not in pain and that makes a big difference. I’m having chemo at the moment and for me it’s not as bad as I expected.”

Such a positive spirit has helped Christine to raise more than £4,250 for the Cancer Appeal by opening her garden to the public. It’s a fantastic achievement and an inspiration to us all. She is now urging you to do something positive for our Think Pink month.

“We are all very lucky to have Weston Park Hospital here available for us. Before I came here I had no idea about all the research work they do which helps not just people like me to get the very newest and best treatments but also looks towards a future without cancer for everyone. That research wouldn’t be possible without the help of the charity. Please do what you can to help.”
